Stickers for Non-motorized Watercraft

A new CT law went into effect on May 20, 2026 requiring all unregistered vessels being used on Connecticut waters to be marked with or have attached to it current and valid contact information for the owner of such vessel. This includes all vessels that are not required to be registered such as paddleboards, canoes, kayaks, small sailboats, and rowboats.

Thanks to Bek and Corinne, we have a supply of the state sticker available in a waterproof box at the end of the canoe rack. Please fill out a sticker and place it on the bow area of your kayak, canoe and/or stand-up paddleboard. All you need is a waterproof permanent marker (there is one in the box for your convenience as well). Easy peasy.

Please place the sticker on your watercraft by August 15, 2026. This will allow us to identify abandoned watercraft. Should we identify abandoned watercraft, every reasonable effort will be made to contact the owner prior to removing abandoned watercraft from the racks.
